Cathy's essay, "When Health History is a Matter of Life or Death," was published in Narrative Inquiry in Bioethics, by John Hopkins University Press in the Winter 2018 edition. It covers the importance of health information for adoptees after reunion, and the explores the potential consequences of not having access to one's biological family.

It features a collection of writings aimed to bring readers the perspectives of adopted women and highlight their strength, resiliency, and wisdom.
